MEGA Camp began as MEGA Sports Camp in the summer of 2007 as a summer ministry of Hillside Community Church. That first year, three sports were offered - Basketball, Soccer, and Cheerleading. Just over 100 children participated.
The following summer, Hillside again offered MEGA Sports Camp, and over 160 children participated.
This past summer, MEGA Sports Camp expanded to include arts - drama, dance, and card-making - and the name changed from MEGA Sports Camp to MEGA Camp. Hillside also partnered with other sponsoring organizations - Kelloggsville Church and Streams of Hope - combining our resources to reach even more children from our community. Over 285 children registered for MEGA Camp 2009!
This year, Hillside will once again be offering MEGA Camp as a gift to the families in our community. All children entering kindergarten through 6th Grade in the 2010-2011 school year will be able to participate in their choice of activity: Basketball, Baseball/Softball, Soccer, Card-Making and Dance.
